Kayastha, B., Pradhan, S.L., Rasaily, N., Dangal, S. and Arentz, F. (2002). Community

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

This study was conducted with the primary and secondary information/data collected and made available by the following technical staff of NACRMP
1. Mr. Khadga Kharel
2. Mr Shumba Sherpa
3. Ms. Bela Shrestha
4. Mr. Moti Kuwar
We like to take this opportunity to thank and appreciate them for the timely collection of field data/information based on the structured questionnaire for both the production and marketing survey. The additional primary data/information collected by the technicians of NACRMP is very much appreciated. It would have been impossible to collect all the required data/information on production and marketing aspects without their timely efforts.
The senior author would also like to thank his co-authors for the time they have given to review all the reports on Chaubas Community Sawmill, Dandapakhar NTFP products, and Upper Slope Chauri Products. Without this combined supportive effort, the report would not have been as comprehensive and accurate. Every effort has been made to verify the information/data with them as well as with the FUG members during the de-briefing at both field and at project level. However, I would like to take full responsibility for any errors that I have made or for any errors still hiding in the report. I would also like to thank all the NACRMP support staff that provided all the logistic support during my consultancy work.
Again, I wish to thank NACRMP for financing and supporting this study, especially to Mr. Steve Hunt, Mr. David Hitchcock and Ms. J. M. van Eijnatten, who agreed to finance this study and allowed me to complete the study, even when the previous study was not completed on time. Special thanks to Mr. Steve Hunt for providing both of your time and efforts to go through the draft report and the important suggestions given to improve the report as well as the additional 20 days to complete the study on Chaubas Community Sawmill. I would also like to acknowledge the work of Dr Frans Arentz in editing this report. I really enjoyed working together with the NACRMP staff and I also like to mention the names of Mr. Hukum Singh and Mr. Prabesh Aryal, Ms.Sarita Shrestha, Mr. Indra Adhikary, and others for their support on the study.
I believe that this study on the income generating effort of the project is unique in timber and non-timber forest products. I hope that this study will find a broad circle of interested readers involved in community forestry program. I also hope that they will upgrade the study based on their location and situation, as it is a very preliminary analysis done in a very short period.
